- Director of International Education at Shaolin Yongzhi Kung Fu Academy
Welcome! I’m Li Nian Yi.
My life’s journey has been devoted to exploring the depth of traditional Chinese Kung Fu (including Tai Chi and Qigong), Zen meditation, and natural healing – and sharing this wisdom with people from all over the world.
Living in the Shaolin Temple area for ten years, I worked and trained with great Masters. Living side by side with them allowed me to learn not just the physical practice, but also meditation, inner awareness, and the profound philosophy behind these traditions.
In Beijing I spent another fifteen years studying traditional healing methods and learning from experienced Doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). My research on different traditional styles of Kung Fu deepened my understanding of natural therapies, energy balance, and holistic wellbeing – knowledge that now forms an essential part of the Kung Fu Zen system.
In 2012, I started creating the Kung Fu Zen International Retreats, which consist of traditional Kung Fu forms for health preservation, meditation, classical Chinese wisdom, insight calligraphy, and TCM natural therapies.
Fluent in both Chinese and English, I have long supported Kung Fu masters in communicating with students from all over the world. I managed international education programs at several well-known Kung Fu institutions and have been guiding international visitors through China as a tour leader, cultural interpreter, and retreat organizer.
My mission is to guide people toward harmony in body and mind, awaken inner clarity, support their health and healing, and share the timeless wisdom of traditional Chinese culture – so they can regain their inner power and experience the true essence of Kung Fu and Zen.
I look forward to welcoming you and sharing this transformative journey with you.
